Christmas is a very special time, as it has both religious and family implications, which makes it a time to do something special. Christmas 2005 was the first Christmas that I had off from work in five years, and because I worked the previous weekend, that gave me a 3-day weekend, with Christmas sandwiched right in the middle. Perfect for a family Christmas!

This year, Christmas was to be a big deal, so on the Saturday, December 3, we dragged all of our Christmas decorations out of the shed and spent the weekend decorating the living and family rooms of our house with, well, Christmas decorations, many containers of them that I had to drag out from the shed. But, Christmas comes only once a year, and this year is special, as I don't have to work and our in-laws will be with us for the holiday.

Right: Close-up photo of ornaments and lights on our Christmas tree. The photos will show you the results of a good part of the weekend putting up inside Christmas decorations. Was it worth the effort? That's a hard question to answer, as I'm still nursing my sore back.
