Welcome to the story of a little "mini" vacation we took with our friends Jerry and Edna to Laughlin, Nevada, and the surrounding area. Pioneer Hotel-Casino: We stayed at the pioneer Hotel-Casino in Laughlin, and this article tells the reader a little bit about the run stay we enjoyed. We really liked the place and will stay there on our next Laughlin visit. Restaurants: Besides the buffet at the Pioneer, we ate at several very interesting restaurants during the course of this trip. Since we moved the web site, I'm still working on this part... Oatman, Arizona: We pay a visit to the almost-ghost town, ex-mining town of Oatman, along historic Route 66, and get treated to a rare January snowstorm. Decorated Sagebrush Trees: Located just outside Oatman, the locals have decorated sagebrush trees with unusual ornaments, reflecting local, and exotic tastes... Christmas Tree Pass: Jerry and I take a trip over Christmas Tree Pass, in search of a few exotically decorated pine trees. Ramada Express Railroad: Did you know that Laughlin's Ramada Express Hotel features a narrow gauge steam railroad that operates five days a week? I check this one out! Ed's Camp: A broken-down relic from the Route 66 day of the 1930's, Ed's Camp is a "must-see" for fans of the former "Mother Road," and all "roadies" in general. Hackberry, Arizona: You have to see this place to believe it, as the Hackberry General Store is rich in Route 66 tradition and history. This is our second visit to this interesting place...
