Saturday, August 22, 2009 was Casey's 28th birthday, and as the usual tradition in our family, we celebrated it in fine style. We enjoyed the company of the usual family and friends, plus a few new folks that always make the atmosphere festive. We lucked out, as our neighbors were out of town, so we were able to crank up Nate's stereo and really make the dance floor come alive.
Photo: The party is just getting started on our patio. Left to right: Sharon, Megan, Casey, Tim, Nate, Mike, and Lori Lynn is seated, and hiding Larissa behind her.
Photo: Megan and Casey discuss birthday plans, over a couple of beers and lemonade coolers.
Photo: Mike told a joke, and brings a round of laughter from everybody at the table.
Photo: LoriLynn laughs, as Casey, Larissa, Sharon and Nicole clown around. Megan looks so serious... Check out the delicious spinach dip and bread on the table.
Photo: We enjoyed grilled hot dogs and hamburgers on our outdoor grill. Everything else was prepared inside, and the chicken legs were cooked in the our roaster oven. You just dump 'em in your crock pot or roaster oven, add a bottle of barbecue sauce, and cook 'em low and slow for six or eight hours, and you'll be rewarded with some of the best chicken legs you've ever eaten. The baked beans were cooked in the crock pot.
Photo: Garnishes for the hot dogs and hamburgers.
Photo: This photo gives you an idea of our busy kitchen. The roaster oven on the counter cooked a TON of chicken legs; we were eating chicken legs, hot dogs, baked beans and potato salad for several days after the party.
Photo: Sharlene entertains Chris's twin boys Steph and Cole, in the living room, as Chris looks on. We keep lots of toys around the house for occasions like this.
Photo: Ever the entertainer, Nate keeps Cole very happy, as dad Troy and Sharlene look on.
Photo: Children always seem fascinated with the stairs, and Cole is no exception, as Nate eggs him on.
Photo: Larissa, Casey and LoriLynn dance to the music, as Tim looks on. Note the kerosene lantern in the background, and the thermometer that reads 80 degrees.
Photo: Left to right: Nate, Tim, LoriLynn, Casey, Larissa and Nicole relax on the patio. Casey requested the following for dinner: Hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken legs, potato salad, and baked beans. Of course we had a wide variety of snacks, chips, dip, and to top off the occasion, a delicious ice cream based birthday cake. Beverages included beer, wine coolers, soda pop, and bottled water. Lots of fun, lots of great company, and lots of good food and beverages. Copyright(c) 2009 eRench Productions, Inc. All rights reserved. This site has been on the web since December 22, 2002.
