From the Sacramento Valley, and the Bay Area, all the way to the Oregon State Line, I post reviews of restaurants where I've eaten, all over Northern California.


Taqueria La Morenita:  Authentic Mexican "street tacos," tortas and more, served by friendly staff at rock-bottom prices.  Delicious Mexican cuisine in Marysville.

Cousins Maine Lobster:  Upscale catering truck that serves delicious lobster dishes all over the greater Sacramento area.  At this writing, they're at Matchbox Winery, in Zamora.

Sinai Fast Food:  Delicious DOLLAR tacos during "Happy Hour!"  Serves delicious, CD-sized tacos, just like you'd find on the streets of Tijuana, or any other Mexican city.  Located in Antelope, near Sacramento.

Truckee Optimist Club:  Serves grilled hot dogs, brautwurst, hamburgers and more at annual Tahoe Truckee Air Show.  Food is delicious, reasonably priced, and the staff is very friendly.

Jax Truckee Diner:  Small town diner, which caters to the taste of locals.  Offers delicious diner cusine, friendly service, with a great view of the railroad tracks.  Local favorite!

Sharon's Cafe:  Fantastic diner cuisine, served by friendly people, in a rustic dining room. Located in the small Plumas County town of Portola.

Julioberto's Mexican Restaurant:  Delicious Mexican food, served in a clean, spacious dining.  Features one of the best salsa bars in Sacramento...

Chewy's:  We enjoy lunch, and some "Dishin' with Tina," and Good Day Sacramento.  Chewy's produces wonderful food, served by super friendly staff!

Rivers Edge Café and Espresso Bar:  Halloween event, broadcast live on Good Day Sacramento, featuring a stack of giant pancakes!  Great food and good times...

Reed's Ribs and More:  Catering vendor, at Gumbo Ya Ya Music and Food Festival in Woodland.  Features delicious Lousiana classics, such as deep-fried alligator, frog legs and more...

Max's Black Bear BBQ:  Offers "old school," delicious, real barbecue, and awesome sides.  This husband and wife team cookes some of the best barbecue the Sacramento Valley has to offer.

Bubbie's Love Deli & Catering:  Kosher deli in Citrus Heights that features outstanding food, friendly service, and comfortable dining.

Silver Fork Cafe:  Small mom and pop diner, open for breakfast and lunch, on the highway to Lake Tahoe. Rustic dining, friendly staff, and a decent breakfast, at a fair price.

Cafe Luna:  Small restaurant located in the Sierra Nevada mountain town of Colfax, that serves wonderful breakfast and lunch, that caters to the taste of the Colfax locals.

Kopper Kettle Cafe:  The essencial "Chester dining restaurant," Kopper Kettle Cafe offers delicious diner cuisine, friendly service, and a local, "Chester dining" experience, in the small Plumas County town of Chester.

Childs Meadow Resort:  Located near Lassen Volcanic Nation Park, and serves possibly the best breakfast in the area!  Offers rustic dining, friendly people, and outstanding food.

Lassen Cafe and Gift:  Micro beer, draught beer, delicious burgers and more... Located in the Southwest Visitor Center, in Lassen Volcanic National Park.

Chester Old Town Cafe:  Located in the small town of Chester, the restaurant features a bakery, delicious food, a limited menu, but lots of local flavor and local hospitality.

Sticky's Big Bone BBQ:  Alligator and pork ribs, grilled, Lousiana, cajun style.  If you've never eaten grilled alligator, here's your chance!  Featured at the 2013 Sacramento Crawfish and Catfish Festival.

PoBoy's:  Specilized in crawfish, but serves authentic boiled, or deep-fried, Lousiana cuisine.  Delicious food, cooked by friendly people, at the 2013 Sacramento Crawfish and Catfish Festival.

Central Station Grill:  They have a smoker in the parking lot in front of the resaurant, belching out smoke!!! Enough said, if you love Texas-barbecue, in Sacramento.

J.R.'s Texas Bar-B-Que:  Feaures authentic Texas barbecue, smoked over mesquite, gigantic portions, dipping sauce on the side, in a comfortable dining room.  Located in Sacramento.

El Pollo Feliz:  The North Highlands location feautres delicious chicken and ribs, cooked outdoors on a wood fired smoker!  Includes all of your Mexican favorites, served by friendly staff at bargain prices.

La Flor Pupusas Grill:  My first forray into the cuisine of El Salvador!  Their motto reads, "Famous for our delicious pupusas," and pupusas are delicious!  Also featured are items from Southern Mexico.  Located in Sacramento.

Rubio's Fresh Mexican Grill:  Offers a wide variety of delicious fish tacos, and a well-equipped salsa bar... but where are the chips?  Arden-Arcade location in suburban Sacramento.

Crazy Sushi:  I meet a family friend for lunch for sushi... This was my first taste of sushi, and I LOVED it.  Located in Elk Grove.

The Hotdogger:  Tiny restaurant that features wide variety of delicious hot dogs, staffed by a very friendly lady. Restaurant has shady, comfortable, outdoor dining in downtown Davis.

El Pollo Feliz:  Specilzes in chicken, which is cooked on an outdoor grill, located in front of the restaurant. Delicious food, food, lots of it, and very friendly staff.  Original location on Whitney Ave. in suburban Sacramento.

Don Quixote's Mexican Grill:  Located close to work... features delicious food at very reasonable prices, served by friendly staff in a spacious and comfortable dining room.  Watt Ave. location in Sacramento.

Hot Diggity Dogg:  Hot dog cart that serves delicious hot dogs in downtown Sacramento, by friendly people.  Natural hot dog casings that "snap" when you bite into them... good dogs!

Hot Doggin' at Cal Expo 2012:  I spend two pleasant July day sat the California State Fair eating hot dogs, barbecue, soul food, deep fried vegies, and more...

Delta King Pilothouse Restaurant:  Features a breathtaking view of the Sacramento River, as you enjoy a wonderful meal, outside, on the deck, in historic, "Old Town," Sacramento.

Rivers Edge Café:  I'm a participant in the Father's Day, "Big Daddy Burger Eating Challenge," and enjoy a delicious burger, and pit my eating skills against four worthy opponents.

Brookfield's Restaurant:  Locally owned and family operated.  Great food, great staff, and a great place to dine with friends.  Madison Ave. location in suburban Sacramento.

Coco's Bakery Restaurant:  Features family-friendly dining, friendly staff, and elegant food, at an affordable price... making Coco's a favorite restaurant for retired telephone company employees. Citrus Heights location

Panera Bread:  Features fresh, in-house baked bread, delicious sandwiches, salads and soup, and it's a comfortable WiFi hotspot to boot!  El Camino location in suburban Sacramento.  

Sam's Hof Brau:  Good food, great coffee, friendly folks... you won't leave this restaurant hungry, and your wallet won't feel a huge dent.  A premiere hof brau in Sacramento.

The Terrace:  Features delicious, California Cuisine, family-friendly indoor dining, and elegant patio dining.  The staff is great, and the food is even better!  Town and Country Center, Sacramento.

Lyon's Restaurant:  Yes, the cuisine is delicious, filling, and very predictable, but, it's Lyon's and Lyon's Restaurant serves great food!  Folsom Blvd. location in Sacramento.

Pignotti's:  Located in the wine garden, this restaurant features delicious, fresh, fruit plates, pasta, sliders and lots more.  Delicious and healthy food, served by friendly staff every year at Cal Expo.

Grinders:  Delicious hot and cold sandwiches, salads and more, served inside the Cal Expo County Building by friend staff, make this restaurant a "winner" in every respect.

Big Bear BBQ:  Features delicious barbecue smoked over oak logs, including tri tip, "caveman" turkey legs and lots of chickens.  Great barbecue and friendly people near the cattle barn, at Cal Expo.

Reno's Fish & Chips, Inc.:  Delicious fish and chips, seafood, fish tacos, and a whole lot more.  The friendliest staff that I've ever seen during my visits to Cal Expo!  A must-eat-at restaurant...

Juicy's LLC:  Home of the "Giant Western Sausage," and it's truly a giant, as it's a foot long, with a soft, chewey bun to match.  It's a great hot dog at Cal Expo!

Monterey Bay Seafood:  Deep fried shrimp, seafood, coams, catfish, salmon, crawfish, calamari, vegetables and more... I go "vegan," and enjoy a deep fried vegetable plate at the 2013 Cal Expo in Sacramento.

Chick-Fil-A, Alta Arden Sacramento:  Serves delicious peppermint milkshakes during the month of December, along with the usual, delicious offerings at this friendly restaurant chain.  Arden-Arcade location in Sacramento.

Subway Store #45749 Sacramento:  Opened in October, 2012, close to work, and features fresh, delicious and typical Subway sandwiches, made to order by friendly staff.  On Watt Ave., in Sacramento.

Wendy's:  Close to work, open long hours, and features many menu selections that are surprisingly good, low in calories, and nutritious.  Suburban Sacramento.

Panda Express:  This very busy restaurant serves delicious, fresh Chinese food, and you get to choose exactly what you want to eat.  This location at the corner of Marconi and Eastern in Sacramento, is recommended.

Gatsby's Diner:  Features, "American comfort food with a twist..." Well said!  ... Straight from their web site... Great burgers, great people... dare I say... an open kitchen?  Arden-Arcade area in suburban Sacramento.

Sam's Sub Shop:  Features screamin' good sandwiches, made from super fresh ingredients... made right in front of you by a very friendly wait and kitchen staff.  By the automalls on Fulton Ave., in Sacramento.

Flaming Grill Café:  Offers a wide selection of burgers, sandwiches and melts, many with exotic meat such as antelope, buffalo, llama, yak, wild boar, or ostrich.  El Camino Ave., in suburban Sacramento.

Mecca Club:  Friendly, local, "dive bar," that offers free breakfast when you purchase drinks.  A great way to get your day started...

Broderick Restaurant and Bar:  "Cheers-like" atmosphere, $2.00 draught beers, friendly people, and home to the award-winning "Johnny Cash" burger.

O'Mally's Irish Pub:  Many varieties of Irish beer on tap, friendly service, great pub atmosphere and lots of good "Irish pub grub," including Irish Tacos!  Have you ever enjoyed an Irish Taco?  Check it out...

El Parian Taqueria:  Featues delicious food, served at very reasonable prices, from some of the friendliest folks you'll ever meet.  Located on Watt Ave., just south of McClellan Park.  

Garcia's Mexican Restaurant:  Considered by many Sacramentans to be one of the finest Mexican restaurant in town, Garcia's features delicious food, fast and friendly service, served in elegant surroundings.

La Fiesta Taqueria:  Serves authentic Mexican cusine in beautiful Folsom, and offers menudo on weekends.
