Sorensen's Country Cafe, along with the small gift shop, is a small, rustic restaurant located at Sorensen's Resort, along California State Highway 88, in beautiful Hope Valley, high in the Sierra Nevada range of mountains.  The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and is a great place to stop for a meal, whether you're a traveler or a guest at the resort.

As with all of reviews that I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences.

Photo:  It's about 9 in the morning on Friday, April 06, 2018, and it's time for breakfast at Sorensen's Country Cafe. The restaurant is located inside the main building, which also includes a small gift shop, and serves as the office of the resort.  It was a chilly, rainy Friday morning, and a cup of Joe and a hot breakfast sounded like just what I needed.

Photo:  As you walk into the office, you're greeted by the manager, where you can register for a cabin, and pay for your meal.  The restaurant is to the right as you enter the office, along with a sign that reads "Please Wait to be Seated,"  but since I was the only diner at the time, the manager said I could sit anywhere I wanted to sit.  That was easy for me to do, as I sat at the table next to the wood-burning stove.

Photo:  The restaurant is very small and rustic, but it's very clean and comfortable.  Note the cheery wood-burning stove in the corner; I sat at the table next to the stove which felt good, considering that a cold, light rain was falling outside.

Photo:  Sorensen's breakfast menu covers most of the bases and includes something for everybody.  I did notice a couple of "oddities," including "Beef Burgundy Stew" offered on the breakfast menu - which I've never seen before - and the $3.00 price for an extra egg, or the same price for two extra eggs.

Sorensen's Country Cafe serves breakfast, lunch along with dinner, and features a separate menu for every meal.

Photo:  As I was waiting for my order to arrive, I admired the wine rack, which has an excellent selection of California wine.  The restaurant also offers a wide selection of bottled domestic beer, but on this mid-chilly Friday morning, a beer didn't sound good, and wasn't an option, as I was driving home.

Photo:  Thanks to my server, Ginger, for taking my photo, at my request, as I sit next to the cheery, wood-burning stove.  Too bad Ginger was camera-shy, as it always enhances my dining experience when my server lets me take his/her photo as they present my meal.

Photo:  Today, I ordered from the top of the breakfast menu the "Two Eggs Any Style."  My breakfast included two fried eggs, over easy, which is my de facto standard, roasted red potatoes, and English muffin, along with a garnish of apple slices and orange.  The meal was cooked perfectly, delicious, but at $9.00 plus tax, it wasn't inexpensive, but the price was fairy reasonable considering the remote, mountain location.

The food is delicious, there is plenty of it, and the price is reasonable, considering the remote location, and the care that was put into preparing a quality meal.  I loved my breakfast, but the fact my server was camera-shy helped to make this write-up rather mediocre.
