I rarely visit fast food restaurants, and it's not because I don't LOVE fast food, it's just that there are so many "unique" restaurants to enjoy in western Placer County.  Not to mention in the year 2021, the cost of fast food isn't all that much lower than a "mom and pop," sit-down restaurant.  But, there are times in this world where fast food calls, and Carl's Jr../Green Burrito, located on Foothills Blvd. in Roseville, CA, is ready to answer the call...

As with all restaurant reviews I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences.

Photo:  It's a little before 09:00 on this gloomy Tuesday morning, November 02, 2021, and I've arrived at Carl's Jr./Green Burrito to redeem a coupon I couldn't resist, and enjoy a "Breakfast Burger Combo" for the first time.

There are three Carl's in Roseville, and this location is in the Brickyard Shopping Center, on Foothills Blvd., in west Roseville.

Photo:  I normally ignore advertising that arrives in the mail, but Carl's grabbed my attention, as I'm always looking for a great deal on food, as I'm always hungry.  So you purchase the whole combo, and you get a second sandwich for free.  Works with me!

Photo:  As you enter the restaurant, look straight ahead and you'll see the all-you-can-drink, serve-yourself soda station, featuring Coca Cola products.  The dining room is large, spacious, well-lit and very clean.  I noted that every other table was blocked off for "social distancing," which I hadn't seen for several months, but I suppose Carl's is erring on the cautious side.

I had the occasion to use the restroom and it was spotlessly clean and tidy.

Photo:  For dine-in customers, the menu is placed above the counter, and there are no printed menus.  You make your selection from the menu, place your order, pay for it, and you get a soda cup - if you ordered a drink - and a number.  You pick the table of your choice, and when your order is ready, it will be brought to your table and your number will be picked up.

If you're a fan of "to-go" orders, the restaurant features a drive-thru, with outside menu, and a drive-thru window, so you don't need to get out of your car.  You can also order online and pick up your order at the counter.

Photo:  On this mid-Tuesday morning, the drive-thru was busy, but I had the dining room to myself.  I suppose I'm "old school" as I've never been a fan of drive-thru or "to-go" orders, as I prefer to enjoy my meal in a dining room, even it it's a fast food restaurant.

Today, since I was being treated to a second burger, I broke my "mould" and took my second burger home with me.

Photo:  The dining room is sparsely decorated, but I did take note of this vintage menu on the wall.  I'm guessing those prices were from 60 years ago... 1961?  I note besides the prices, the menu has changed drastically over the past six decades.

Photo:  Meet friendly Sadia, who took my order at the counter, and brought it to me with a masked smile.  She was amazingly friendly, and provided great service.

I ordered my "Breakfast Burger Combo" to eat in the dining room, and my extra burger to take home with me, as there was NO WAY I could eat two burgers.  Sadia was kind enough to bring a tray to my table, so I could simulate diner-style dining in a fast food restaurant.

Photo:  I am definitely eager to dig into my "Breakfast Burger Combo."  Photo is actually a "selfie" I took using my iPhone and a small tripod that always accompanies me on any eating expedition.

Photo:  From the "Breakfast Sandwiches and Biscuits" section of the menu, I ordered "The Breakfast Burger Combo" which included the burger, an order of Carl's "Hash Rounds," and an all-you-can drink, soda, with your choice of Coca Cola products.  I'm "old school" so I enjoyed good ol' Coca Cola with my breakfast, as my drink of choice.

The menu describes the burger as, "Charbroiled all-beef patty, crispy bacon, egg, American cheese, Hash Rounds and ketchup on a seeded bun."  At 9 o'clock on a Tuesday morning, this was an outstanding choice for breakfast... or was it brunch?  Mid-mooring, you have a difficult choice to make, so a breakfast burger combines the best of breakfast and lunch, into a great burger.

The burger started with a large - probably 6-oz before cooking - beef patty, perfectly charbroiled, tender, juicy, but unremarkable, enclosed in a large, seeded bun.  Ketchup was spread on the bottom half, with a layer of "Hash Rounds" on top of the ketchup, and under the beef patty.  The meat pretty much covered the "Hash Rounds," but they made their presence known when you bit into the burger. Melted American cheese, a fried egg and two thin pieces of bacon were placed on top of the meat, with another light layer of ketchup on the top bun, to complete the burger.

When I bit into my breakfast burger, I could taste everything on the burger, which complimented the juicy charbroiled beef patty.  Carl's perfectly "nailed" the meat-to-bun ratio, and the ketchup, "Hash Rounds," bacon, egg and cheese all worked together to make a great breakfast burger, that will keep you going past lunch.

I was really pleased with the "Hash Rounds" as there were deep fried to a perfect golden brown on the outside, and juicy/tender inside.  They were perfectly deep fried and not at all salty or greasy.  Like my breakfast burger, they arrived hot from the kitchen.  They were so delicious that I forgot to dip them in ketchup.

Carl's Jr. always has a great mix with their fountain Coca Cola products, which is the secret to good taste.  I confess that time-tested Coca Cola is my favorite soft drink, and I love the self-serve station, as I can add just the amount of ice, I can go back for seconds, and I can take a drink with me when I leave the restaurant.

Photo:  My "Breakfast Burger" didn't exactly look like the promotional photos, but it was a great, solid burger that kept me satisfied until well after lunch.  You can barely see the "Hash Rounds" which are hiding under the meat.

I was truly happy with my "Breakfast Burger Combo" as it was a quality brunch, and kept me satisfied until dinner. This is fast food, so don't expect your burger to live up to the expectations of your local truck stop diner, but for a generic, fast food chain restaurant, this is a good burger combination, and well worth your burger consideration.

Yes, the fare is pure Carl's Jr., just like any of the other stores in the chain, but unlike many ot the other stores, the Carl's Jr./Green Burrito on Foothills Blvd. features fast, friendly service in a clean, comfortable dining room.  You'll get your food, and you'll be treated with a smile along the way.

When the urge for fast food calls, the Carl's Jr./Green Burrito, located on Foothills Blvd. in west Roseville is there to answer the call.
