For a city of its size, Sacramento really doesn't offer many barbecue restaurants, and the ones that are located in town, despite some of the "Texas-sized" claims, serve Kansas City style barbecue, which is the de facto standard barbecue for the west coast. I'm sure one of these days I'll discover a diamond in the rough... Central Station Grill: They have a smoker in the parking lot in front of the resaurant, belching out smoke!!! Enough said, if you love Texas style barbecue... J.R.'s Texas Bar-B-Que: Feaures authentic Texas barbecue, smoked over mesquite, gigantic portions, dipping sauce on the side, in a comfortable dining room. Pit Stop Bar-BQ: Located near the former McClellan base, Pit Stop features good barbecue, attractive prices, and friendly service by Poblado, the owner.
