The Carson River Valley, located in western Nevada, is home to countless ranches, of every, shape and size, and is more "country" than most of the State of Texas.  Minden, one of the very "country" towns, is home to Cowboy's Cafe, which serves a breakfast that would make any cowboy from Texas, Wyoming, or Nevada, "Minden proud."

As with all of my reviews, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences.

Photo:  It's early Wednesday morning, May 31, 2017, and I saddled up to Cowboy's Cafe to enjoy a great breakfast.  I actually found Cowboy's by trial and error, as I had planned to visit a restaurant located at the Minden Airport, only to find the restaurant closed.  I'm glad I found Cowboy's Cafe, as I found Spam for breakfast!

Photo:  As you enter the restaurant, the first word that comes to mind is WESTERN, as the decor reminds me of a restaurant in west Texas.  Minden, and the Carson River Valley in western Nevada, are home to countless cattle ranches, so Cowboy's Cafe really caters to the local cowboys, and the "cowboy" in anyone who appreciates an outstanding breakfast.

Photo:  Shotguns, revolvers, tack and longhorns decorate the wall above the window to the kitchen, where the chef is preparing my breakfast.

Photo:  A portion of the breakfast menu.  It was hard to pick my meal, as everything looked good, especially the Chicken Fried Chicken and Gravy, the Chorizo Links, and the Spam.  Eventually, I settled on Spam, as I haven't enjoyed Spam for breakfast since last year.  Cowboy's is very serious about breakfast, as the restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch only.

Photo:  My friendly, yet camera shy hostess, Lindsay, chats with a regular customer.  Cowboy's Cafe is a favorite of the Minden locals, and caters to the local taste.  Photo is shot from the rear of the dining room, looking forward. The counter is to the right of the photo.

Photo:  After placing my breakfast on the counter, Lindsay chats with Debbie, and was surprised that I took the photo.  Neither lady really wanted their photo taken, so I didn't press the point.

Photo:  I ponder the breakfast in front of me, and reflect on the good eating I've done in the last few days, and the wonderful breakfast, featuring Spam, that I'm about to enjoy.

Photo:  Spam, eggs, hash browns, toast and coffee for breakfast.  It just doesn't get any better than this, and this breakfast was absolutely wonderful.  On this last day of May, I think this breakfast made my entire month, thanks to the Spam!

Cowboy's Cafe is the type of restaurant that I dream about, as it has everything that I love in a restaurant.  Open for breakfast and lunch only:  check.  Great food:  check.  Friendly staff:  check.  Local favorite:  check.  Western decor:  check.  Cowboy cuisine:  check.

When you're passing through Minden, cowboy-up, and tie your horse at Cowboy's Cafe.  You'll soon be enjoying an awesome, western-style breakfast.
