Victorian Saloon is a very typical, old west-style watering hole, that caters to locals, bikers and tourists alike.  It's located on Victorian Ave., in downtown Sparks, and is very close to John Esquaga's Nugget Hotel Casino, which makes it a great place to enjoy a cold beer, shoot some pool, and enjoy the company of the friendly staff and patrons.

As with all of my reviews, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences.

Photo:  Victorian Saloon is located in the heart of downtown Sparks, near the Nugget Hotel Casino.  During the annual Nugget Rib Cookoff, the saloon offers beer at prices several dollars below what the "official" beer trailers charge, which makes it my watering hole of choice.

Photo:  The decor is very western, as the bar caters to locals, tourists, bikers and rib enthusiasts like me, who enjoy cold beer at a bargain price, during the Nugget Rib Cookoff.  On this late Friday afternoon, August 31, 2016, the bar is nearly full, and is doing a brisk business.  From what I hear, on Friday and Saturday evenings, the saloon is packed.

Photo:  My friendly bartendress, Amanda, pours a 24-oz Pabst draught beer, which is priced at $5.00, which is two dollars below a 16-oz beer sold at the 2016 Nugget Rib Cookoff beer trailers.  Victorian Saloon quickly became my watering hole of choice, as I attended the event.  Beer with a smile!  Amanda wears sunglasses, as the window is open to the street, and the bright sunshine.

Photo:  Amanda pours a beer to another customer.  I'm standing just inside the front door, looking out the window, open to the street, and the cookoff event.  Victorian Saloon is located near the extreme eastern end of the event, near Pyramid Way, and is surrounded mostly by art and craft vendors, rather than rib cookers.

Photo:  Amanda snaps my photo, as I'm ready enjoy a "tall cold one" in downtown Sparks, as I get ready to enjoy a rack or two of ribs.  I love that sign in the background that reads, "FOR THE LOVE OF BEER."  Well said...

Victorian Saloon is a great place to "hang" during the Nugget Rib Cookoff, as the staff is friendly, and their ice-cold beer is priced several dollars below the prices charged by the "official" beer trailers at the event.  You can't beat this fine watering hole for fine beer, served by friendly staff.
