If you're a regular reader of our breakfast adventures, you're undoubtedly wondering why the Sacramento Breakfast Club would choose to enjoy breakfast at the Madison Ave. location IHOP, which is only a link in a chain of national chain of restaurants.  You've probably figured out that IHOP doesn't fit our de facto standard, as it's not "unique," not a mom and pop operation, and isn't native to the Sacramento region.  But most protocol, including our own, isn't etched in stone, and rules are made to be broken.  Protocol was left behind, as we held our bi-monthly meeting on Friday, August 9, 2013 at the Madison Ave. location of IHOP...

Photo:  It's a warm, bright and sunny Friday August morning, which is a perfect morning for the Sacramento Breakfast Club to enjoy a meeting at IHOP.

Photo:  The rear dining room was practically empty when we were seated, but by the time we left, it was packed with hungry diners.  Our charming server, Danica, takes Sharlene's order.

Photo:  Danica brings our orders to the table, as Sean passes Teri's order of waffles to her.  Danica was very pleasant and charming, and provided excellent service.

Photo:  IHOP is constantly changing their menu, and Sean couldn't resist ordering the unlikely combo of chicken and waffles, which made him flash his Carmichael gang sign for the camera.

Photo:  Today's members of the Sacramento Breakfast Club, from left to right:  Sean McCloud, Teri McCloud, Sharlene Rench, Eric Rench and Robert Kipperman.

Photo:  I couldn't resist the "Breakfast Sampler," which included sausage, bacon, ham, two eggs, hash browns, and two delicious buttermilk pancakes.  Such a great breakfast.  True, IHOP is a chain, but the Sacramento Breakfast Club loves a great breakfast, and that's just what we enjoyed today.

You just can't go wrong with breakfast at this IHOP location!  IHOP's web site refers to the restaurant as "An American Icon," and I think that catch phrase pretty well describes the dining experience that members of the Sacramento Breakfast Club enjoyed.  We'll be back...
