If you're a regular reader of our breakfast adventures, you may recall that we held a club meeting at Lido Bar & Grill back in November, 2009.  We enjoyed such a great meeting that we'd been hoping to return, but with so many unexplored breakfast restaurants in the greater Sacramento area, it's often difficult to return to a previously-visited restaurant.  The thrill of new breakfast venues always calls!  However, on April 15, 2011, we had the chance to visit Lido Bar & Grill, and we absolutely enjoyed our breakfast experience...

Photo:  As usual, I arrived early and the parking lot, as well as the restaurant, was practically deserted.  Lido features attractive patio dining, but we prefer their comfortable dining room.

Photo:  The view from our table looking at the dining room.  It's not particularly large, and is quite cozy.  Note the gigantic clock on the far wall in the upper right corner of the photo, and the guy playing the clarinet.  Lido features either live music or karaoke on Thursday,  Friday and Saturday nights, which are the only nights they're open late, as they normally close at 2:00 in the afternoon.  Our waitress Nikki started the karaoke and the clarinet player played the lead part to the recorded music.  Amber and Nichole played "Name That Tune," and all of were surprised at how many songs they knew, as the music was mostly "standards" from the 1940's, 1950's and 1960's...

Photo:  Nikki takes Bev's order of toast and eggs.  Nikki happens to be the daughter of Don and Shawna Rivera, the owners of the restaurant.

Photo:  Norma brings food to the table, including Dan's giant breakfast burrito.  Lido Bar & Grill features efficient, friendly service, and the staff isn't camera shy, which is a plus for a hard-core digital shutterbug like I am.  The clarinet player can be see in the background, behind Norma's left shoulder.

Photo:  Nikki brings my breakfast order, another mug of coffee, and a smile, as I snap her photo.  Your coffee mug never runs dry at Lido's, as Nikki and Norma are very attentive, but not intrusive.

Photo:  My breakfast of delicious country fried potatoes, two large, juicy sausages, two eggs over easy and four buttered slices of sourdough toast.  Not shown is my mug of coffee, with endless refills.  The breakfast was not huge, but for me, it was "just right," and left me satisfied until dinner.  Believe me, the breakfast tasted as good as it looks in the photo.

Photo:  Dan shows the camera his handiwork, and grins as he shows what he did with the bowl of gravy he ordered on the side... gravy covers his breakfast burrito completely and just lets a little bit of his country fried potatoes be seen. Like his former Sacramento Breakfast Club buddy Brad, I think if you put a piece of cardboard on the plate, and covered it with gravy, Dan would enjoy it for breakfast.

Photo:  Today's breakfast club members, from left to right, Eric Rench, Dan MacLeod, Mike Casella, Tony "The Weasel" Godsey, Nicole, Amber, Matt and Sara Donnelly, Bev MacLeod, and David DeMario.

Photo:  As I was waiting to pay for my delicious breakfast, I snapped a photo of a giggling Norma, as she applied frosting onto freshly baked cinnamon rolls.  Lido Bar & Grill features a bakery, at the counter, as you walk into the restaurant.

Photo:  Mike chats with friendly Nikki, as he pays for his breakfast of bagel and lox, which he said was delicious. The kitchen is open, and can be seen in the photo behind the counter.  Nikki was proud to point out to us that everything is made in-house, from scratch, from fresh ingredients.  I could tell, as my breakfast was absolutely delicious!

Lido Bar & Grill offers everything dear to the hearts of the members of the Sacramento Breakfast Club, including delicious food, attractive presentation, "just right" portions, friendly, efficient service, comfortable dining, varied menu selection, and reasonable prices.  Don and Shawna Rivera operate a fine restaurant, and they're good people as well, and will make you feel at home.  Lido Bar & Grill is a restaurant of choice for the members of the Sacramento Breakfast Club.
