So, what brought my friend Sharon and I to share lunch at La Fiesta restaurant in Folsom?  Weeks earlier, she had suggested that I model for one of her photo shoots, since she is taking magazine photography in one of her college classes.  I'm not the shy type, so I agreed to have her do a photo "shoot" of me.  Don't get me wrong, as I have been on both sides of the camera, so I have a pretty good idea of what's going on when it comes to "shoots."  But Sharon, asking an 50-year-old  person to model, for the camera, well, that seemed  totally weird.  But we did it, and we had a great time of the photo shoot, at Folsom Lake, near Folsom, California, not far from the state capital of Sacramento.

Left:  One great thing about being at Folsom Lake on an early Saturday morning in November, is I get to help the granite rocks stand still, and smoke a cigar at the same time.  True multi-tasking on an early Saturday morning at Folsom Lake! This is a "fill-in flash" shot, that Sharon needed for her college class. Right: Is this really me?  I guess so, as I take a drag from my cigar to please Sharon's digital camera.

Why did she want me to model?  Because I'm weird, as I shoot from both sides of the camera.  I'm not shy in any way, nor do I fear to express, or expose  myself.  Plus, and it's a big plus, Sharon and I are devoted fans of street photography, and that's a common bond between us, and anyone who hides behind a camera and likes to paragraph people doing everyday things.   So the whole thing seemed kind of natural, and everything just fell into place.

Left:  OK, so Sharon wants me to walk toward her camera while I'm wearing my sunglasses, as I toke on my stogie and do my best Clint Eastwood impersonation, attemping to control, uncontrolable laughter.  Right:  I do my best James Dean look (the mean look), while dressed as a Clint Eastwood wannabe, in a western movie.  Hey, the cigar tasted good!

We had a lot of fun, and a very pleasant lunch.  What more could you want from that?  Just in case you're asking, yes, I still talk to her at work, as weird as that may seem.  During the photo shoot, she could take, maybe, 20 rapid-fire photos before I would burst out laughing, such is the perils of being in front of Sharon's digital camera.
