Last summer,  with little fanfare, 2 Hermanos Jalisco Grill became the latest Mexican restaurant to enter the Placer County dining scene.  During the last few months, this fine restaurant has achieved a reputation for serving delicious Mexican food, and offering fine dining, in Auburn, CA.

As with all restaurant reviews I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences.

Photo:  It's a little past 13:00 in the afternoon, on a rainy Thursday, May 04, 2023, and I've arrived at 2 Hermanos Jalisco Grill to enjoy an amazing Mexican lunch.  This fine restaurant is located in Auburn, CA.

Photo:  As you enter the restaurant, you'll notice the order counter and the video monitor that displays the menu.

2 Hermanos Jalisco Grill operates on what I refer to as the "taqueria format" in that you check out the menu above the order counter, make your selection and pay for it.  In return, you'll receive a number, and then you seat yourself at any available table.  When your order is ready, it will be brought to you by one of the friendly and accommodating staff.  A tip jar is at the counter, should you choose to tip your server.

On the other hand... should you seat yourself at a table, or the bar - like I did - you'll be treated to full restaurant and bar service.  Be sure to tip your host or hostess!

Photo:  The main dining room is very spacious and furnished with tables, that can be pushed together to accommodate large groups.  The dining room exhibits a "sports bar" feel, as there are several video monitors tuned to sports programs.

The all-you-can-eat chips and salsa bar is the centerpiece of the dining room, where you can help yourself to some of the best deep fried tortilla chips and salsa in town.

Photo:  The menu is placed above the ordering counter, where you can make your selection and choose to dine-in or take-out.  It never ceases to amaze me how many dining patrons choose to-go orders... I suppose I'm simply "old school."

The menu lists all of your Mexican favorites, with a "slant" on the Mexican state of Jalisco.  Click on the menu image to see the complete list that menu of 2 Hermanos Jalisco Grill offers...

Should you choose your order to-go, you can order online or over the phone, and by the time you arrive at the restaurant, your order will be ready.  Of course you can dine like I did, and enjoy your lunch inside the restaurant.

Photo:  The restaurant features a all-you-can-eat chips and salsa bar.  There are small baskets for in-house dining,or if you're doing the "to-go" route, there are bags where you can take chips home with you.  Small cups are provided for salsa, for dine-in or to-go.

Photo:  The salsa bar features eight varieties of salsa and one of pickled pepper and carrots.  The choices with black spoons are spicy, so watch your selection.  It's all good, and all-you-can-eat!

Photo:  I had already placed my order with my hostess when I saw the "Special" near the bar.  This looks like a great deal.

Photo:  The small bar is at the rear of the restaurant and offers a modest selection of imported - mostly Mexican brands - beer, as well as domestic beer on tap.  There is also a modest assortment of mostly locally-produced wines.

In case you don't know, Placer County has a "wine trail" that begins just outside of Auburn, and leads to nearby Lincoln.

Photo:  The choice of wines is displayed at the bar, and offers something for every taste.  Wine is available by the glass or by the bottle.

Photo:  I was able to take a peek inside the kitchen to say "hello" to the talented staff, as they performed their magic.

Photo:  My friendly hostess, Alexandra, pours a Modelo Mexican beer from the tap, into a frosted glass.

Photo:  I enjoy a cold glass of Modelo beer, along with chips and salsa, after taking a trip to the all-you-can-eat chips and salsa bar.  Delicious!

Photo:  Meet my amazingly friendly hostess, Alexandra, as she brought my lunch to me with a smile.  She was a friendly, efficient and amazing hostess, and I look forward to future dining with her.

Photo:  My friendly hostess Alexandra snapped my photo, as I smile and get ready to enjoy two delicious fish tacos.

Photo:  From the "Plates" section of the menu, I went with "2 Fish Taco Plate."  All "plates" served at the restaurant come with a small salad of shredded lettuce, a slice of tomato, sprinkled with cheese, with Mexican rice and refried beans.  Such a feast for lunch!

Each taco started out with two medium size corn tortillas, lightly toasted so they were soft and delicious, to hold the fish and the toppings.  Fish was - I think - tilapia and cod, and it was seasoned and grilled to perfection, with just a little "crust" on the outside, and tender, white and juicy inside.  Each taco was topped with diced white onion, shredded cilantro, with a sprinkling of shredded Mexican cheese, and, what "assume" to be a house sauce, on the "Jalisco" side of things.  Delicious!

Each bite was simply delicious, as each fish taco enjoyed the perfect tortilla-to-meat-topping ratio.  Delicious! Thanks to the two corn tortillas, each taco held together well and didn't fall apart as I enjoyed each bite.  2 Hermanos didn't skimp on the fish, as each taco was loaded with fish, and made for a delicious, satisfying lunch. I love seafood, especially Mexican style seafood, and in my "foodie" opinion, there is nothing finer than a delicious fish taco.

I simply loved the small salad of shredded lettuce, a tomato slice and the sprinkles of Mexican cheese.  Such a great "aside" to this fine lunch!

The Mexican rice was good, but nothing to drive to Jalisco about, as it was simply seasoned rice which was cooked in a chili pepper sauce.  The refried beans were great, and the Mexican cheese that topped the beans added to the total enjoyment.  Both the rice and refried beans made for a delicious side to the meal.

I absolutely LOVED my lunch of "2 Fish Taco Plate" I enjoyed today!  The fish was absolutely spectacular, the toppings were perfect and the corn tortillas held together well and added the Mexican "earthy" touch to the fine meal.  The small side salad was welcome and refreshing, with the rice and refried beans making for perfect sides. Such a great lunch!

Oooops... I spilled a little bit of the avocado salsa as I took the photo...
