In the Spanish language, the word "sabor" means taste, and the plural for of the word "sabor," is "sabores," which translates to "tastes" in the English language.  Sabores Mexican Cuisine, located in Roseville, certainly translates to "tastes," as the food is tasty and delicious!

As with all restaurant reviews I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences.

Photo:  It's just past 11 in the morning on Saturday, February 16, 2019, and I'm "opening" Sabores Mexican Cuisine on this beautiful morning, as I'm the first customer of the day.  Note the small covered patio to the right of the building.  Due to the rain showers today, the patio wasn't in use.

Photo:  View of the dining room and bar as you enter the restaurant.  The dining room is very upscale, and decorated nicely, with a combination of California, and traditional Mexican decor.  Note the small bar, which offers a variety of Mexican and domestic beers, wine, along with mixed drinks.  The furniture is a combination of tables and booths.  The restaurant is both attractive and comfortable.

Photo:  As I was seated at a booth by one of the many windows, I was brought a basket of warm, super-fresh tortilla chips, and a bowl of delicious salsa.  Everything served at Sabores is made in-house, from fresh ingredients.  When asked what I wanted to drink, I simply asked for a glass of ice water, as I was driving and didn't think a beer would be a good idea.  Anyway, it's a tad early for beer at 11 o'clock on a Saturday morning!

Photo:  The menu is very extensive - this is one of several pages - and colorfully illustrated.  Since today was Saturday, I was in the mood for menudo, but could not find it listed under the "Soup of the Day" section.  However, I reasoned that since menudo is normally served on weekends, it most likely would be in today's soup pot.  When I questioned my server, she said "Albondigas Soup" was today's offering.  Alas... no menudo... so from the "Entrees" page of the menu, I went with "Carnitas."

The only criticism that I have about this fine restaurant - and it's very minor - is that menudo is not offered on weekends.

Photo:  After placing my order, I took a look around the restaurant and noticed the small patio, facing busy Fairway Drive.  Due to the chilly February weather, the patio wasn't in use.

Photo:  Shortly after placing my order, my salad was brought to me by my friendly hostess, Rosillo.  Each "entree" offers a choice of soup or salad, but I decided to go with a salad. Photo shows some of tasteful decorations that adorn the walls, along with many artificial plants.

Photo:  I'm glad I went with a salad, as it was simply delicious!  The veggies were super fresh, and the salad was just the right size.  Note the attractive presentation.  You have your choice of several varieties of salad dressing; I chose "ranch." Not the healthiest choice, but I'm not counting calories.

Photo:  Meet Rosillo, my super-friendly server, as she brings my "Carnitas Plate" with a smile.  Rosillo was amazingly friendly, and when I told her about my web site and my "Yelp" endeavors, she welcomed my photo-taking and questions with a smile.  Outstanding service!

Photo:  I'm all smiles as I prepare to enjoy a delicious lunch at Sabores Mexican Cuisine.

Photo:  My complete lunch of the "Carnitas Entree," corn tortillas, chips, salsa and a glass of ice water.

The menu describes "Carnitas" as "A traditional Mexican of pork, seasoned with citrus flavors, and prepared crispy in the style of Sabores."  The meat was outstanding, as it was crispy on the outside, tender inside, and marinated to perfection.  Three varieties of beans are offered, and I chose refried beans.  The meal also includes rice, a small salad, and a scoop of guacamole.  Flour or corn tortillas are served on the side; I went with corn tortillas and they arrived wrapped in foil piping hot.

Everything on my plate was fresh, delicious and perfectly cooked.  The attractive presentation and the super-friendly service made my meal taste even better.  I definitely enjoyed my lunch!

My main meal arrived just as I'd finished my salad, in about 10 minutes after my salad was brought to me.  That's FAST!

Photo:  The main plate of my "Carnitas" lunch, showing all of the goodness.  Not only was the food fresh and delicious, with an attractive presentation, but the portion size was HUGE!  A couple years ago, I could have polished off this feast easily, but I guess I'm not the "eater" that I used to me.  I ate about half of my meal and took the rest home in a box, to enjoy for dinner tonight.

The Mexican cuisine served at this fine restaurant is simply delicious, anyway you look at it.  My lunch was cooked perfectly, my order arrived lightning fast, and my server, Rosillo, was super friendly.  The portion was so HUGE that I couldn't eat it all, and took the remainder home in a box for tonight's dinner.

If you're in the mood to enjoy delicious Mexican food, head over to Sabores Mexican Cuisine in Roseville, California.
