Saucey Oysters and BBQ is a small, "pop-up" food vendor hat sets up shop and special events, and offers delicious grilled oysters, shrimp, crab, octopus, and other seafood delicious.  If you enjoy delicious, grilled-as-you-watch seafood, and dining in the great outdoors, you'll love Saucey Oysters and BBQ.

As with all of reviews that I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences.

Photo:  It's a little past the noon time opening of the Placer County Fair on Sunday, June 26, 2022, and I've arrived at Saucey Oysters and BBQ to enjoy amazing grilled, stuffed oysters.  The Placer County Fair is held the last weekend in June at "The Grounds," formerly known as the "Placer County Fairgrounds," in Roseville, CA.

Saucey Oysters is a small, pop-up restaurant, that caters to parties, weddings and special events, such as county fairs.  It's a small family-owned and operated business, based out of the Natomas area of nearby Sacramento.

Photo:  Friendly Malloy was inside the booth, and took my order, along with my money, with a cheerful smile.

Photo:  The menu is very simple, as it includes the "Original" which is oyster in a shell, along with bacon, shredded cheese, green onions, and a helping of "Signature Sauce." For an extra $5.00, you can upgraded to a "Seafood" which includes your choice of octopus, shrimp, crab, scallops or lobster.

Photo:  Like the menu, the condiment selection is very limited and includes four choices of popular hot sauce, and lime juice should you care to "enhance" your meal.  Plastic forks and napkins are provided.  Grab plenty of napkins, as the grilled oysters are juicy, and several napkins will come in very handy.

Photo:  As I arrived, Aisha, one of the friendly chefs, had just put a large stack of clams on the grill, and sprinkled them with cheese, as it was about 12:30 in the afternoon and time for lunch.

Photo:  Oysters  cooking on the grill.  Some have already been filled with shredded cheese, and others are waiting for Aisha's skilful touch.  Note the large oysters inside of each shell, as Saucey Oysters and BBQ gives you your money's worth for a satisfying lunch.

Photo:  Aisha was joined by Chef Huey, who lifted the dome to check on the nearly finished oysters and seafood that were warming on the grill.  The dome, so to speak, is simply a cover, that allows the cheese to melt properly and seal in the juicy goodness of the meal.  It's similar to a "burger dome" which many diners use on the griddles for grilling cheeseburgers.

Photo:  Huey ladles some of the "Signature Sauce" onto the oysters and seafood, which are nearly ready to serve. The sauce is a tangy, sweet-sour sauce, and it's a trademark of the restaurant.

Photo:  Chef Huey adds shredded cheese to a fresh batch of oysters that he's just placed on the grill.

Photo:  My four "Seafood" oysters, just as Huey lifted the dome, ready to be removed from the grill, and for me to enjoy as my delicious lunch.

Photo:  Meet Chef Huey, who delivers my lunch to me with a smile.  Huey is a great guy and a master at seafood grilling.  My order was ready in less than five minutes after placing it.

Photo:  I'm a happy guy, as I hold my "Seafood" lunch, ready to enjoy.  The lunch came packaged on two sturdy aluminum pans, which allowed you to carry your lunch to one of the nearby picnic tables to enjoy.  There are numerous shaded picnic tables for you to enjoy your lunch and relax.

Photo:  From the "Oyster Menu," I went with a "Seafood," and I chose shrimp as my option.  Like the "Original" the "Seafood" includes a large clam, in a half shell, shredded cheese, bacon, green onions, and a helping of "Signature Sauce."

The four large oysters were split open, and the large, meaty oyster was cut until it could be easily removed from the shell, yet was held in place enough so it didn't fall out.  Next, shredded cheese was placed on the oyster until it began to melt, followed by diced bacon, green onions and several large, juicy shrimp.  The stuffed oysters were moved over to the "warming" side of the grill, which I assume was using "indirect heat" and covered with a large dome, to allow the cheese to melt consistently, and to seal in the juicy moistness.  After a minute or so, Chef Huey removed the lid, ladled "Signature Sauce" onto each oyster, and covered them again.  After just a couple minutes, I was ready to enjoy my delicious lunch.

My "Seafood" lunch was simply delicious, as the oyster and shrimp were juicy and tender, with the bacon adding a slightly "smoky" taste and complimenting the oyster and the shrimp, the cheese added a bit of decadent, creamy flavor, which mingled perfectly with the slightly sweet flavor of the grilled green onion. The sauce brought is all together and made this lunch a masterpiece.

Saucy Oysters and BBQ makes a delicious seafood lunch!  This isn't your typical greasy, deep-fried, high-calorie "fair food," as this is the kind of meal that you'd expect to enjoy in a fine restaurant, on a marina with an ocean view. Huey and his staff produce delicious oyster and seafood barbecue!

Photo:  Each "Seafood" had lots of oyster, shrimp, cheese, bacon, green onions, and was finished off with the sweet/tangy "Signature Sauce" to make this a "must-have" for all "foodies," attending the 2022 Placer County Fair.

There is nothing better than to enjoy delicious grilled crab and oyster, while taking in the sights and all he action the Placer County Fair has to offer.  Saucey Oysters and BBQ grills delicious seafood, the staff is friendly, and the food is simply a must-have for "foodies" to enjoy.  Check out Saucey Oysters and BBQ at a special event, coming to your area!
