The "Campus Oaks" location of MOD Pizza, in Roseville, CA is one of five locations in the greater Sacramento area, as this chain of restaurants has a footprint across the United States, numbering over a hundred stores.  The Roseville location has been in operation for a little over a year and serves menu selections and custom-made pizzas all for the same price.

As with all restaurant reviews I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences.

Photo:  MOD Pizza is located in the Campus Oaks Town Center, a relatively new - 2021 - shopping center in west Roseville, CA, on Blue Oaks Blvd.  The restaurant features a comfortable patio that is dog friendly, so you can bring your favorite friend along with you to enjoy the great cuisine.

Photo:  Today, Friday, October 20, 2023, I "opened up" the restaurant at the 11:00 in the morning opening time, and there were only two other diners waiting in line.  With a popular restaurant like MOD Pizza, I purposely visit during light traffic hours, so I don't annoy fellow diners with my photo taking.

It's kind of like Disneyland as you're funneled down an aisle and fenced in by guardrails.  But, later in the morning as the lunch crowd arrived, I noticed the line moved quickly and efficiently.

As you're directed toward the order counter, you'll notice the menu on the wall.

Photo:  The menu advertises "Any toppings one price" which is true, as you only pay for the size of pizza your order. The restaurant showcases a unique and "on demand" style for their pizza, which means that for the same price, you can place as many toppings on your pizza as you want for the same price, and you can enjoy whatever variation of pizza you desire.  The price is driven by the size, but the toppings and condiments are unlimited.  With restaurants, MOD Pizza offers a truly unique format.

Photo:  The dining room is very simple, but clean, comfortable and modern.  It's furnished with may high tables, with booth along the perimeters.  The decor is sterile, reflecting the "corporate" atmosphere that I felt during my visit, but I confess that didn't hinder my great dining experience.

Photo:  Drinks and dessert menu is conveniently posted above the check out station, just above the beer taps.  I noted the beer prices were reasonable compared to many nearby pubs and restaurants.

Photo:  Pizza is custom made to order, and you choose from a wide array of more than 30 fresh toppings.

When you arrive at the order counter, you place your order from the "MOD Classic" menu, or the "Create Your Own." All pizzas begin at the crust, but from there, it's up to you, as you can top your pizza with anything, everything, and as much as your pizza will hold, all for the same price, that is listed on the menu.  You watch as the talented staff assembles your pizza. Talk about an open kitchen!

Photo:  After pizzas are assembled, they are tagged with the diners name, and placed on a rack.  Then, they are placed into the oven and baked for about five minutes.  When the pizza is finished baking, it's removed from the oven, placed on a plate, and taken to the pick-up counter, where the name of the customer is called.  You pick up your pizza, take it to your table and enjoy.  Note the ready-to-bake pizza on the rack, and the pizza crusts, ready for sauce and toppings.

Photo:  My friendly pizza chef, Heidi, begins my "Calexico" pizza with red pizza sauce.

Photo:  After topping my pizza with mozzarella cheese, grilled chicken, gorgonzola, she reaches for more pickled jalapeno slices to top my pizza.  The restaurant offers over 30 toppings, all fresh, and available for the staff to assemble, as you watch your pizza being created.

Photo:  Heidi applies the finishing touches to my pizza, and writes my name on the order sheet before sending it to the oven for baking.

Photo:  Sort of a back look at the pizza assembly line with the draft beer taps in view.  Actually there are five craft beers on tap along with one "hard" apple cider.  Beer or cider is tapped either by the pint or the pitcher.

Photo:  I raise my glass of Mind Haze IPA and toast MOD Pizza for their amazing food, and their friendly staff. Cheers!

Photo:  From the "MOD Classic" section of the menu, I went with a "Calexico" pizza, which sounded both unique and delicious.  For the same price, you can order a build-your-own pizza and choose from over 30 toppings, but since today was my first visit to MOD Pizza, I decided to stick to the menu.

Unlike other restaurants, the finished pizza looked EXACTLY like the pizza pictured on the menu.  I have to hand it to MOD Pizza, as that endeavor rarely happens in the "real world."

The restaurant offers two sizes of pizzas, the "mini" with a 6-inch crush, and the "MOD" on an 11-inch crust.  For only $2.00 more, the "MOD" is a no-brainier.  All pizza crusts are pre-made and are very thin, but hold up well.

"Calexico" features red pizza sauce, grilled "buffalo" chicken, mozzarella, pickled jalapeno pepper slices, gorgonzola - an Italian cheese on the salty side - and it's drizzled with hot buffalo sauce.  All toppings were added to the crust as I watched, then the pizza was placed in the oven, and five minutes later, I was ready to enjoy.

The foundation of every pizza is the crust, and although this crust was pre-made, it was thin, crispy and held together well.  I thought it was on the bland side, but everybody has a different taste and all together, it was a good, solid foundation for my pizza.

The mozzarella and the gorgonzola were melted together perfectly, with chunks, long with bits and pieces of chicken in the cheese.  The pickled jalapeno slices were placed on top, which truly added to the taste.  The hot sauce was drizzled over the pizza to add a little spice and lots of flavor.

The restaurant advertises this pizza as "spicy," but to me, it was "just a little bit."  If you desire heat, visit your local Thai or Indian restaurant!

This pizza was unique, as I've never enjoyed a pizza with this combination of toppings, along with the gorgonzola cheese.  The cheese was melted perfectly, the crust was crisp, crunchy and perfectly baked, and held together well. All toppings worked together to made for a delicious, unique pizza.

The pint of Mind Haze IPA served as my dessert, and as a way to enhance this delicious pizza.

Photo:  One slice of my "Calexico" pizza, showing all of the goodness the pizza has to offer.  Fresh, hot and delicious... right out of the oven!

The pizza was hot, fresh and simply delicious, the service was fast and friendly, and the attractive dining room was clean and comfortable.  The 10% military discount was an added bonus.

For delicious pizza at an attractive price in west Roseville, I highly recommend MOD Pizza, located in Roseville, CA.
