Little Tokyo Teppanyaki Grill is a small restaurant, located on the "Dining Terrace" of the Roseville, CA, Westfield Galleria that serves delicious, Japanese-inspired cuisine.  The food is delicious, you get a lot of food for your money, the price is right, and the service is fast and friendly.

As with all restaurant reviews I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences.

Photo:  It's a little after the 11:00 morning opening time, and I've arrived at Little Tokyo Teppanyaki Grill, located on the "Dining Terrace" at the Westfield Galleria, located in Roseville, CA.  This mall is one of the largest, upscale malls in the greater Sacramento area, and the Sacramento valley.  Little Tokyo shares the dining area inside, and outside on the patio with the other restaurants who call the "Dining Terrace" home.

Photo:  The "Dining Terrace" is located on the second floor of the mall, and offers comfortable patio dining, should you prefer to dine outdoors.  During today's dining adventure at Little Tokyo, the outdoor temperature was in the low 90's, which made for perfect outdoor dining.

Photo:  The menu of the restaurant is displayed on a video board, located above the order counter, and lists a modest selection of Japanese-inspired cuisine.  There is a "daily specials" board located underneath the menu which listed today's special of "Katsu Chicken Bowl," which sounded great to me.

Photo:  Unlike most Japanese restaurants, "Miso Soup" is not included with your meal, and is sold separately.  In reading the menu, it looks like a bowl of "Miso Soup" at Little Tokyo would be a substantial meal by itself, unlike the small bowl of miso and tofu soup included at most sit-down Japanese restaurants.

Photo:  All menu choices are made fresh in the kitchen, and are displayed in trays, so it's easy to make your choice of entree and sides when you place your order.  Everything is made on site, and the warming trays are continuously replenished with hot, fresh selections.  Note the open kitchen in the background, where you can watch the friendly and efficient staff prepare your meal.

Photo:  There is a case where individual selections are sold separately, should you just be interested in a quick bite to eat.

Photo:  One staff member is the sushi chef, and specializes in making several varieties of sushi, fresh, in-house as you watch.

Photo:  Staff prepare orders from the trays of fresh selections, which have just arrived from the kitchen.  Each tray is labeled, so it's easy and fun to make your selection.  The menu offers combination plates which allow you to choose exactly what you want.

Photo:  My friendly hostess delivered my lunch to me at the "Pick Up" window with a smile.  Too bad I didn't catch her name...

Photo:  I'm a happy guy, as I relax on the "Dining Terrace," located on the second floor of the Westfield Galleria, as I get ready to enjoy my delicious lunch.  All of the restaurants on the terrace share a common dining area, along with covered patio dining outside.

Photo:  From the "Daily Specials" board just below the menu, I went with the "Katsu Chicken Bowl," which was a new Japanese treat for me.  The friendly staff provided, "on the house" a Sasame Ball" along with an order of "Chicken Dumplings."  A small cup of "Tonkatsu Sauce," and a cup of "Sweet Red Sauce" was provided for my dipping pleasure.  The chicken was placed on top of steamed white rice and steamed cabbage and broccoli.

Little Tokyo dishes out plentiful portions, as my order of "Katsu Chicken" included six generous pieces of chicken breast, coated with panko crumbs and perfectly deep fried to a rich, golden brown.  The white meat was moist and juicy and tender inside, and the breading enhanced the delicate, delicious chicken, rather than overpowering it.  The chicken was crispy on the outside and moist and tender inside, and reminded me of Japanese-style fried chicken that you enjoy at county fairs.  It was simply delicious!

The chicken was accompanied by a plentiful amount of steamed white rice, from the big rice pot in the kitchen, which made for a wonderful side.  Steamed cabbage leaves and a few broccoli flowers were included with the "Katsu Chicken Bowl" to make for a delicious, well-rounded and VERY FILLING lunch.  All of this goodness for only $6.99 plus state tax... it's a deal that can't be beat!

As an added bonus, the staff included a "Sasame Ball" and an order of "Chicken Dumplings," as a gratuity, which was more than generous of the friendly staff!

I'd never had the pleasure to enjoy a "Sasame Ball," and to my delight, I found it was a deep fried dough ball, coated with sesame seeds.  It was crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside and mildly sweet.  The sesame seeds added a nutty "crunch" and an "earthy" taste which contrasted with the mildly-sweet dough, to make for a delicious side dish.

I also was treated to four "Crab Rangoon," which was a dish that I'd never had the pleasure to enjoy until today. These delicious treats were cream cheese, with very small pieces of crab - most likely imitation - stuffed into a wonton wrapper, and deep fried to a light, golden brown.  The rangoons were star shaped, which added to the presentation and the delicious taste.  A small cup of syrupy, red sweet and sour dipping sauce was included, which made for amazing dipping.  Count me in a lover of "Crab Rangoon!"

Thank you, Little Tokyo Tappanyaki Grill, for the great dining, and for the "Sasame Ball" and the order of "Crag Rangoon."  Delicious!

You don't have to board a 747 and fly all the way to Tokyo to enjoy delicious Japanese-inspired cuisine, as when you're shopping at the mall, and you get hungry for the taste of Japan, stop by Little Tokyo Teppanyaki Grill and enjoy their fine cuisine!  You'll love this fine restaurant!
